The Sacred Assembly of the Passover 2010

  • देश | South Korea
  • तिथि | 29/मार्च/2010
On the evening of March 29 [the 14th day of the first month in the sacred calendar], the Sacred Assembly of the Passover, which God gave for the salvation of mankind, was held in all the Churches of God throughout the world.

The Passover is the day when the Israelites, who were slaves in Egypt, escaped the plague through the blood of the Passover lamb and were released from slavery. On this day, Jesus Christ proclaimed the New Covenant Passover through bread and wine representing His flesh and blood, and delivered the spiritual Israelites from the slavery of death to the way of eternal life (Ex 12:1-14; Lk 22:7-20).

At 6 p.m., the worship service for the feet washing ceremony was held. General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim explained the true meaning of Jesus’ washing His disciples’ feet, saying, “We should have our feet washed before the holy bread and wine ceremony of the Passover, just as the priests in the Old Testament washed their hands and feet with water in a basin before they entered the sanctuary” (Jn 13:1; Ex 30:18). The members washed one another’s feet according to the example of Christ. Inscribing the spirit of humility and serving, they participated in the worship service for the holy bread and wine ceremony.

Through the service, Mother gave a prayer of thanks to Heavenly Father for restoring the feast of life through His sacrifice and love, and also prayed earnestly that the children of Zion would enjoy the blessings of eternal life and glory in heaven by participating in the bread and wine of the Passover after realizing the value of salvation. In addition, She prayed that they would all become great gospel workers to lead all mankind to the way of salvation by conveying the light of love through the Passover to the whole world, which Father had shone on them.

General Pastor Joo-Cheol Kim emphasized that “life” is the most precious value that never changes even in a time of rapid social change, and reminded the members of the importance of the Passover, saying, “The Passover is the most important feast to mankind, through which we can receive the promise of eternal life and escape from disasters.” Then he urged them, “As everything that has life bears fruit, let us bear the fruit of life abundantly as those who have received eternal life from God, by carrying out the mission of preaching the gospel wholeheartedly, so that we will all enter the kingdom of heaven” (Jn 6:53; Mt 26:17-19, 26-28; 1 Jn 2:25).

The members ate and drank the Passover bread and wine, giving thanks to Elohim for granting them the grace of salvation. After the service, Mother commended the efforts of Her children who had carried out the mission of couriers to invite people to celebrate the Passover, and asked them to make more of an effort to find their lost brothers and sisters who were in agony amidst unceasing disasters without hearing the good news of salvation. Being reminded of the value of the new covenant again, the members gave thanks to God for Their boundless love, and pledged themselves to convey the light of the gospel to all nations of the world.
